Helloes people! I hope you're all enjoying Cata and have visited some of it new sights! I have a small question which I have been pondering... How the heck does Blizz handle those NE mages? If anyone wouldn't mind doing it, I'd love some sort of short resumé. Again, I hope you all have fun in there! - Yours truly, Throe

Hey Throe! I'm not enjoying Cataclysm because I don't have it yet. Despite it being winter, apparently a little snow and ice can throw transportation services into chaos. I do like what I've seen of the old redesigned zones, though, apart from Ashenvale being such a battlefield. Darkshore is fantastic. I don't really have an answer for your question so far. The Highborne aren't mentioned in the racial introduction flyover, nor in a Teldrassil questline that essentially sums up recent history, nor is there a new scripted talk in the Temple about them (or about anything, sadly ... I REALLY wish Blizzard would put something there already, so Tyrande doesn't just stand around). They are back, and they are around here and there, but without a direct explanation why -- as far as I have seen, at least. There's one Highborne in Felwood helping the druids (I found her a bit dubious, but that's probably bias), and a little quest hub of them in Feralas (haven't quested there yet, only explored). But they don't feature in Ashenvale, Darkshore or Teldrassil. So my initial impression is that their return is rather understated. No in-your-face BS to the tune of "only we and our superior power can save you baseborn savages", just a handful of quests. I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder to decide whether this is a relief -- or a disappointment because some explanation and conflict would have been better. For me it's a mix. I don't want them crawling all over the place or making a spectacle of themselves, but 10,000 years of magic being a death sentence should have been worth at least a few scripted talks and other mentions of lingering hostility and suspicion.

If what you say is true, I'm rather dissapointed. Like you, I'd hoped for some sort of introduction... But, meh.
