Thanks for the help with trying to figure out the age problem for me, i guess 700 years is just really off even with the immortaility theory they gave. But at least i've got my characters age now, i've decided he'll be 7326 years old so he was born around the same time as the exile of the Highborne which should fit nicely into my characters story which i'll try to get around to writing down and posting it soon.

I've read somewhere that 'heroes' live longer than the regular populace. But it's all hear say.
As for all this Tolkien/Mythology stuff, it's very interesting. To be fair though, almost every culture has supernatural beings aside from gods who are often translated into fairies or elves. Ireland, for example, has the Sí, which basically just means magic people, but upon translation ye get little fairies with wings, tiny lepracháns and horrible beansí monsters. They get bastardised because they are fused with the mythologies of other culture when we call them elves and faes and such and it's probably the same for Norse mythology.
I think, though Tolkien drew from available mythology, he essentially created a mythology of his own which should be concidered independantly.
Thanks for the lessons though, I love hearing about mythology ;P
